Due to new federal regulations and insurance requirements. The Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act, Chapter 556, Florida Statutes, requires anyone who is digging or disturbing the ground to contact 811 and have underground facilities marked no less than two full business days prior to digging.
We understand when a real estate listing goes live marketing the home is vital but the New federal regulations and insurance requirements will cause some delays and we apologize for the inconvenience and delays. Sunshine 811 is only available Monday - Friday and they do not operate on weekends or holidays. Because of their work schedule, locating utility lines could take up to 72 hours to obtain a certificate. Florida statute 556 does not allow us to install a post until 2 FULL BUSINESS DAYS after the dig ticket request has been submitted. unfortunately, this will cause a delay with some real estate sign post install requests submitted at the end of the week. We will submit the dig request for you in order to simplify this process for the Agent but we are kindly asking that you submit your post install request 3 days before the listing goes live in order to expedite the utility line marking process. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause but we appreciate your patience and understanding.
